Mwaka Nawila Foundation Website
Platform Overview
We designed and developed the official website for the Mwaka Nawila Foundation, a youth-focused non-profit organization working in Zambia to improve access to HIV prevention, sexual health education, and community empowerment programs.
The goal of the project was to create a modern, accessible, and scalable digital platform that effectively communicates the foundation’s mission, showcases its programs, and supports engagement with stakeholders including youth, partners, and donors.
Features Implemented
1. Responsive and Mobile-First Design
The website was built with a mobile-first approach to ensure accessibility for users on smartphones, which are the primary devices for many users in Zambia. The layout adapts seamlessly across screen sizes.
2. Structured Content Architecture
I designed a clear information hierarchy, organizing content into key sections such as:
- Home
- About
- Programs
- Contact
This improves usability and allows visitors to quickly find relevant information.
3. Program Showcase
A dedicated section highlights the foundation’s core programs, including HIV prevention, youth empowerment, and community outreach initiatives. The layout ensures that complex information is presented in a simple and engaging format.
4. Performance Optimization
To ensure fast loading speeds and a smooth user experience, I implemented:
- Optimized images and assets
- Efficient CSS and JavaScript handling
- Lightweight design components
5. Accessibility and Readability
The site was developed with accessibility in mind, including:
- Clear typography and contrast
- Readable content structure
- Simple navigation for users of varying digital literacy levels
6. Contact and Engagement Integration
We implemented a contact interface that allows users to easily reach out for partnerships, volunteering, and program inquiries, improving communication between the foundation and its audience.
